Tranmere have been strong at youth level for a few years and again look to have a strong side. They won through to this semi-final with a win against Blackpool but it is in the FA Youth Cup where they have excelled this season.

They reached the quarter-finals of the national competition before going out to Middlesbrough with a goal two minutes from the end of extra time at Prenton Park. They had previously recorded wins in the competition against Darlington College, Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace, Stevenage Borough and Premiership Southampton.

They should have a similar line up tonight to the one that narrowly lost to Middlesbrough which was: Palethorpe, Vaughan, Tremarco, Lovell, Martin, Pinch, Scott, James, Fowler, Dagnall, Dickinson.

Burnley faced a tough match to win through to this semi-final but beat Preston 1-0 at the Turf despite first team new boy, and youth team captain, harshly receiving a red card. The goal that night was scored by Alex Taylor when he converted a Marc Pugh cross from the right.

Ross Preston and James Heywood featured in that game but both have since left the club and will not be involved tonight.

Otherwise the squad will be similar with the likes of Irish schoolboy Kyle Lafferty and former Liverpool youngster Nicky Platt set to be involved. Burnley will select from the following squad:

Michael Hale, Gary Carter, Ryan Townsend, Danny Pitham, Marc Pugh, Darrel Avery, Joe Booth, Tom Ince, Alex Taylor, Cayne Hanley, Mark Crossley, Rob Henry, James Quinn, Dennis Greenwood, Kyle Lafferty, Nicky Platt.

If you have the chance get down to the Turf tonight to give the lads your support and see if we can make the final.
