These places are based on performance in the Alliance Leagues with the top third from all three going into the top Merit Division, the middle third into Division 2 and the bottom third into Division 3.
The Clarets are third from bottom with more defeats than any other side in the North West Conference and along with Bury and Rochdale join six other clubs in this Division 3.
The others are Darlington, Halifax Town and York City from the North East Conference and Chester City, Macclesfield Town and Wrexham from the North Central Conference.
This Merit League gets underway this coming Saturday with a home game against Macclesfield Town which will kick off at Gawthorpe at 11:00 a.m. this coming Saturday, 14th February. We will play each team once with four of them at home and four away.
