Youth team confirmed as runners up

We went into the game though some 9 points behind leaders Oldham with just the two games to play. In fact the only points either of us have dropped was in when the two sides met at Oldham back in March when the young Clarets were beaten 2-0.

We have played Oldham three times this season, all away from home, and beat them twice in the earlier Youth Alliance North West League. The first win was 3-1 with an own goal adding to two from Andrew Leeson and then an Andrew Leeson penalty earned us a 1-0 win.

The Latics had already been presented with their Merit League trophy on Monday after they had beaten Carlisle 2-1 in their final game and we send them our congratulations.

The Clarets still have one game to play at Chester on Saturday but whatever the result it will not change our position in the league.
