Youth team are second

Our one and only defeat came against leaders Oldham who are yet to drop a point although the young Clarets beat them twice in the Youth Alliance North West League earlier in the season.

The more established of the young players such as Earl Davis, Andrew Waine and Joel Pilkington have been left out for recent games although it is believed that Pilkington is injured. This has enabled others such as Steven Richardson and Sean Blakey to stake a claim for a regular place in readiness for next season.

Burnley's last game was a week last Saturday against Shrewsbury, a 2-0 win we reported at the time and the league results from that date have been

30th March

Chester City 0 Oldham Athletic 4
Mansfield Town 1 Grimsby Town 0
Shrewsbury Town 0 Burnley 2
York City 2 Bradford City 0

2nd April

Chester City 1 Carlisle United 1

6th April

Chester City 1 Bradford City 3
Mansfield Town 3 York City 1

The Clarets are back in action this weekend when we take on Mansfield Town at Gawthorpe with an 11:00 a.m. kick off.
