Once again Gawthorpe has apparently not been able to cope with the bad weather and this is now becoming a major problem for the club with fixtures unfulfilled and training plans changed. Last season a lot of the training was done indoors or out on the Turf Moor pitch and that in itself caused problems to the playing surface with first team and reserve team games being postponed.
For the second time in a week though the club have failed to inform anyone of a postponement although on this occasion Clarets Mad were wise enough to make enquiries before making their way to Gawthorpe.
That brings to an end the pre-season games for both the reserves and youth team unless a new date can be found for the game at Padiham. A date of 12th August was suggested but that has not been confirmed.
Now though we can look forward to this afternoon’s game against Brighton.
