Youth Cup news

The FA and Lancashire FA knock out competitions are for players who are under 18 on the 1st September and as such some players who are involved in the Youth Alliance League are too old for these competitions.

This means Liam Eves, Damian Hindle, Matthew O’Neill, Joel Pilkington and James Salisbury (all regular reserve team players) are all now too old to play.

Apart from that the team is also missing players such as Australian Ryan Townsend, Adam Jones, Richard Chaplow and the latest member of the Miller dynasty Paul Scott and it will be a very much under strength side that takes on Palace.

Burnley are seeking permission to include two fourteen year olds in the squad in what is going to be a difficult game for the young Clarets against a club that is ahead of us in the game with an Academy set up.

The line up is: Michael Hale, Marc Pugh, Steven Richardson, Danny Pitham, Neil Trotman, Gary Carter, Robert Grimes, Sean Blakey, Rhys Carpenter, Darryl Avery, Tom Ince. Subs will include James Heywood, Mark Evans and Pat McFaddon with two more to be named.
