For two of those players the news is good with both goalkeeper Conor Mitchell and right-back Cameron Dummigan having signed those first professional deals.

Conor has signed a one-year deal with the club which is further good news for him following on from making his under-19 debut for Northern Ireland earlier this month.

In that squad alongside him was Dummigan and earlier this week he's put pen to paper on a deal for the next two seasons. He's progressed well and has twice been on the first team subs bench this season, for the home league game against Watford and the FA Cup tie at Southampton.

A delighted Dummigan told the Lurgan Mail in Northern Ireland. "It's a fantastic feeling. This is what I set out for when I started to play. I have been very happy over here and everyone at Burnley has been fantastic.

"I have worked hard to earn this, last season I won the Player of the Year award with the youth team and am now with the reserves. I have been on the bench with the first team in games. All the coaches are superb and take the time with you individually if you need it."

His dad Colin explained that Cameron had a choice when before coming to Turf Moor. He said: "There were a host of clubs wanting him to go on trial. Rangers, Hull City, Wolves, Aston Villa and Spurs were keen on him, but he could not have made a better choice in the end. "

It's excellent news for both Conor and Cameron. Well done to both of them.
