You are having a laugh Joe

Actions speak louder than words so when Leeds tried to get Richard Chaplow on the cheap just before the season kicked off it was reassuring to here that not only were we not going to flog him to the club that has become something of a joke but we signed him on an improved and longer deal.

That was just what we wanted to hear but clubs still think they can come in and get our players on the cheap. A year ago Nottingham Forest paid us £500,000 for Gareth Taylor and that had to be considered a good price given that Norwich had previously offered significantly less.

But this week Forest have incredibly offered £300,000 for Robbie Blake but surely they didn’t think they would even get us to consider that sort of offer. The fact is we don’t have to sell Robbie and we would only if an offer came in that was not in our best interests to turn down.

£300,000 doesn’t come within miles of that to be honest and there is no doubt that it will have been laughed off in the manager’s office and in the boardroom at Turf Moor.

To be honest, given the state of Forest at the moment you would think that yesterday’s man Kinnear would be better employed working with his players than spending time making nonsensical bids like this for players.

Apparently they want £5 million for Andy Reid, there you are Kinnear, if you want Robbie then you are going to have to offer something very close to that or look elsewhere.

He’s played for Forest once before and he won’t be going back, certainly not at those sort of prices.
