Yoga in the Café

The youth team get their first yoga lessons
The Leisure Centre has been extended with Learning Direct moving out and Café Claret closing down and the old café area on the ground floor has now become an aerobics studio.

It was all too good an opportunity to miss with the new style training at Turf Moor. With ice baths, dieticians moving in and the club looking for a Swedish masseur it was a case of yoga classes for the young members of the youth team on Friday afternoon as they prepared for the new season.

Clarets Mad were there to witness this latest training innovation for the players and can report that the lads were taking it very seriously indeed and did appear to be enjoying it.

Later today they will turn their attentions back to football with their first pre-season friendly when they take on Colne who will be fielding former Claret Andy Payton.

The full youth team squad for this coming season is:

1st year Modern Apprentices

Mark Crossley (goalkeeper), Cayne Hanley (forward), Rob Henry (full back), Kyle Lafferty (forward), Chris McCann (central midfielder), Nicky Platt (central midfielder), Martin Reilly (left back).

2nd year Scholars

Darrell Avery (central midfielder), Michael Hale (goalkeeper), Tom Ince (wide midfielder/winger), Marc Pugh (wide midfielder/winger), Neal Trotman (central defender).

3rd year Scholars

Joe Booth (central midfielder), Adam Jones (central midfielder), Alex Taylor (forward), Ryan Townsend (central defender).
