Wright v Gazza - tune into the BBC to watch England

England players celebrate reaching the second round - now we can support them on the BBC
Traditionally the BBC have been the nation's favourite over the years for such occasions and Clarets Mad are pleased to support Burnley Football Club in asking you to tune into the BBC on this occasion to watch the game.

This has nothing to do with the quality of coverage on this occasion but is part of the protest against Carlton and Granada over their refusal to accept financial responsibility to Football League clubs following the collapse of ITV Digital.

Clarets' Chairman Barry Kilby told the official site, "It's all about putting pressure on ITV, Carlton and Granada to make them face up to their responsibilities. If the advertisers on ITV realise that more people are watching the BBC, then it will be more pressure on them and on Carlton and Granada, which will all help."

So if you are watching it at home then please watch it on the BBC, if you are in a pub and they have ITV on then please request that they switch over to the BBC.

Of course there is also a football decision to be made and the BBC and ITV have gone head to head this tournament with our two biggest signings ever, Ian Wright-Wright-Wright on the BBC and Gazza on the ITV.

So there's your choice. You can have Wrighty, the BBC and support the campaign against Carlton and Granada or you can choose Gazza on the ITV and put even more money in the pockets of these two big media companies. And there again the head of sport at the BBC is Peter Salmon (aka Mr. Raquel Wolstenhulme) is a Claret.

So help the club to fight for their rights and tune into the BBC.
