Williams makes World Cup bow

Williams, who has previously played for the Welsh Under-21 side, recently opted to play for Australia, his country of birth, and was called up to their squad for three games.

He didn't make it into the match day squad for the first two but was in the starting line up as they came from behind to beat Japan 2-1 with two goals from Everton's Tim Cahill.

Williams was replaced by Scott McDonald with eleven minutes remaining in the game.
