Will he call it off again just over an hour before kick off?

If it is waterlogged though don't expect any sort of announcement until at least 6:30 p.m. On Boxing Day referee Brandwood thought the pitch would improve in sub zero temperatures and left his decision until just about everyone was there and I'm afraid he is still allocated to this game.

Having worked himself a Christmas off John Brandwood has taken charge of six games since starting with the FA Cup tie between Cheltenham and Oldham up to the Watford v Grimsby game on Sunday. He showed the red card in both of those games. At Cheltenham it was Oldham's Darren Sheridan who received the red card and at Watford on Sunday he red carded Watford's Jermaine Pennant along with Grimsby's Tony Gallimore after the handbags came out.

There have been fifteen yellow cards in those five games and an even spread of seven for home players and eight for away players.
