Who played for who?

Frank Sinclair - has played for West Brom
On a number of occasions recently I've been asked, often by editors of web sites for other clubs, which of our players had played for another particular club, and it has always proved to be difficult to find a complete answer for them.

So last week I set about putting these lists together, for my own use as much as anything else, so that next time a request came in I would have an answer. It took some time, and I've certainly not gone back any further than 1946 so the lists are very strictly those of post war Clarets.

Completed last Friday I then thought there might be some use for the information on the site and set about putting the information together on a series of pages. It is now all complete, so if you didn't know that no fewer than 33 of these players have played also played for Preston or that just one player has turned out for both Burnley and Barnet, you can check it all out in the new section of the site – entitled Played for Both it can be found in the Players section.

I'll guarantee you will be surprised at some of the names you see against some of the clubs – seeing that Frank had played for West Brom was one for me and I certainly didn't know that Gary Parkinson had played six games for Southend in the season before he joined Burnley.

I'm trying, slowly, to build up the stats on the site – I hope some of you find this new section useful.
