Where are we playing next week?

The pitch at Bucks Head - the reason for the problem
It is amazing that the FA have allowed a Wednesday date next week for the third attempt at playing the 4th round FA Cup tie between Telford and Millwall. Surely they should have been playing on Monday, at a suitable venue, and then again on Wednesday if a replay is required.

But Wednesday it is and should there be a result then we will travel to play the winners on the Saturday in the 5th round.

Then there is the possibility of another farcical postponement or Telford and Millwall actually drawing which would then mean them playing each other on 5th round day.

Burnley were due to play a league fixture at Reading that day but that has already been called off. Although it is possible it is thought to be very unlikely that the fixture would be restored should we have no cup tie and that would leave us incredibly without a game at all – maybe we could arrange a money spinning friendly.

So there you have it, now where are you going a week on Saturday?

The options are:

The Den – Millwall v Burnley FA Cup 5th round
Bucks Head – Telford v Burnley FA Cup 5th round
Neutral venue – Telford v Burnley FA Cup 5th round – if Bucks Head is unavailable
Madejski Stadium – Reading v Burnley Div 1, this is considered unlikely
Turf Moor – Money spinning friendly against a Premiership team out of the cup
Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling because we have no game
