West Yorkshire Clarets set to launch

Last updated : 20 August 2003 By Tony Scholes

There have always been many Burnley fans in the area this group cover and this is a chance for them to get together and talk about all things Claret.

The inaugural meeting of the new West Yorkshire Clarets group will take place next Wednesday 20th August at the Lord D'arcy Public House in Alwoodley, North Leeds. The pub is a large and usually quiet place that serves a fine selection of beers and food, and will allow for free frank discussion of the Clarets fortunes and anything else you fancy.

The first meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. and it is hoped some of the Leeds based Clarets attend as well as those in Bradford, Keighley, Ilkley, Otley Wakefield and Skipton amongst others.

Apart from discussing the Clarets the meeting will also make decisions on a way forward such as regular meetings and suitable venues in the area for the meetings and also to arrange car sharing to both home and away games.

If you would like to go The Lord D'arcy pub is situated on the A61 Harrogate Road out of Leeds. Follow the A6120 until you turn on to the A61. After 1/2 a mile or so you will see the pub opposite the Petrol Station on Harrogate Road - you really cannot miss it.

If you are interested in the West Yorkshire Clarets but cannot get to next week’s meeting then please EMAIL the site and we will forward your details.

To those Clarets in the West Yorkshire area – best of luck with the group from Clarets Mad.
