We're off to Accy – for Cooky

Burnley have visited for the last few years for pre-season friendlies and have always sent a reserve team to play the Stanley first team. Until last year the Clarets second string were always the stronger but last year with our lack of resources and Stanley’s squad strengthening it proved too much.

There had been no suggestions of such a fixture this year but that has changed and this time it will be our first team who will play there with the game going ahead on Wednesday 30^th July with a 7:45 p.m. kick off.

Stan apparently will be sending a full strength squad as a thank you to Paul Cook for his services to our club during the last four years. Cooky, along with Stretch Armstrong, will be in opposition.

It is a game that should attract a sizeable crowd to the Crown although there are no ticket details as yet.
