Welsh guest for visit of Cardiff

Brian Flynn
Our other Welsh international of that era Brian Flynn will be making the half time draw. He started his career with Burnley and had two further spells with us, the first of them being on loan.

As his Burnley career ended so his Cardiff career started, that was in November 1984 when we sold him to the South Wales club for £15,000. He was with them for just a year before moving on to Doncaster, but he eventually returned to Wales and to Wrexham to end his playing career.

He managed Wrexham from 1989 to 2001 and later spent 18 months as Swansea boss before bringing his club management career to an end. He's now part of John Toshack's team with the Welsh national side and that includes managing their Under-21 team.

Brian still lives locally and is always a welcome guest at the Turf, and I still think his debut at Arsenal was the best Burnley debut I've seen.
