Weller says farewell to Rochdale

Weller joined Dale on non-contract terms after a period of time with them recovering from a calf injury. He won himself a place in the first team and played in five games during which he impressed both fans and management.

Steve Parkin said he added quality to the midfield and said he hoped they would be able to keep him. However, finances dictate and they were not able to offer Paul a permanent deal although he would have been able to continue with them on the non-contract terms.

The player decided that wasn’t for him and chose to leave and set about looking for a new club. Given the number of players looking for opportunities this seems a brave decision by the former Burnley midfield player, unless he happens to have something lined up elsewhere.
