The two came through the youth team at the same time and made there first team debuts in 1995 and both of them established themselves in the first team.
Now Brassy has helped out his former team mate by allowing him to train with Conference club York and would be keen to sign him for the new season although Weller is still considering his options.
Weller told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, “Chris has been great and I’ve been happy to keep ticking over at
“I’m still not sure what is going to happen though. There are a few offers to look at, but teams seem to want you on trial these days and at my age and with my experience I feel that shouldn’t be the case.
“But there are so many footballers looking for work now, you have to seriously consider any options that come along, so we’ll see what happens now that July is almost here.”
