He made a dramatic Turf Moor debut in early 2001 when he produced his yellow card seven times and his red card once as we beat Barnsley 2-1. Ian Cox, Ian Moore and Lenny Johnrose were the Burnley players to see yellow along with four Barnsley players including Chris Morgan who was sent off for a second yellow.
It's all been calmer since. Last season he refereed the 3-3 draw against Crewe and the 2-0 victory over Gillingham and he was more sparing with his yellow card. Just Ian Moore and one Crewe player in the first match not a single card in the Gillingham game.
This season he was here for the Worthington Cup tie against Blackpool when Ian Moore, Robbie Blake and one Blackpool player were booked.
On the Saturday after that Blackpool game he sent off both David Prutton and Jack Lester of Nottingham Forest as they went down 1-0 at home to Watford and there have been four other red cards along with 96 yellow cards in 30 games.
A total of 42 of the yellow cards have gone to home team players with 54 to away team players although 4 of the red cards have been given to home team players.
He is overdue a clean sheet, the last and only time this season was back in September for the Division Three game between York and Oxford at Bootham Crescent.
