He's one of four players he's sent off in games involving the Clarets, but unfortunately the other three were all our players, namely Arthur Gnohere, Frank Sinclair and Andy Gray, although we could have no complaints over them.
His last Burnley game, just like his first, was a home game against Barnsley. That was last season and all credit to him for getting through the game when it looked as though it could be called off because of the water on the pitch.
He's somewhat erratic and has had his good games and not so good games with the Clarets, and surely the worst of all was his handling of our game at Preston two seasons ago when his card was hardly in his pocket.
Looking at his record this season, in his last game he sent off Brentford goalkeeper Ben Hamer in their FA Cup defeat at Barrow. Hamer is the third player he's sent off this season, the other two are Craig Davies of Oldham, in their penalty shoot out win in the Carling Cup at Rochdale, and Wycombe's Tom Doherty in a 1-1 draw at Grimsby.
All three red cards have gone to away team players. As for his yellow cards they are hardly worth counting. In 18 games this season he has yellow carded just 22 players. Of those seven have been home team players and 15 away team players.
Hopefully he'll keep his cards in his pocket again tonight, as he has done in six games already this season. I've said before, he's not the best referee, but he's certainly not the worst.
He will be assisted by Paul Curry (Northumberland) and Jason Tyas (West Yorkshire) and the fourth official will be Ken Haycock (West Yorkshire).
