Webster is here again

Last updated : 13 January 2009 By Tony Scholes
He had an uneventful evening at the Cardiff game, handing out just one yellow card to each side. Joey Gudjonsson was the Burnley player booked whilst the Cardiff player to see yellow was Wayne Routledge who has since signed for our visitors tonight.

As I reported last month, I don't think he's the best of referees but he's no doubt a long way from being one of the worst. He won't demand the spotlight as Oliver did on Saturday either.

Webster has been a bit busier with his cards in the last month. In four games since the Burnley v Cardiff game he's handed out a total of fifteen yellow cards in four games which is way above his average which, prior to the last month, was just over one yellow card per game.

Those cards have now taken his total to 39 yellow cards in 23 games. Of those 12 have gone to home team players and 27 to away team players. His red card count remains at three for the season.

Tonight he will be assisted by Steve Cummins and Mark Heywood (both Cheshire) whilst the fourth official will be Robert Madley (West Yorkshire).
