Webb to make Turf Moor debut

This will be the first time that Webb has taken charge of a Burnley game home or away and so there are no past games to take a look at.

Tonight will be his seventh game this season and in the previous six he has given out a total of 24 yellow cards although as yet no red cards. He doesn’t appear to have given the home teams any real advantage and twelve cards have gone to the home teams and twelve to the away teams.

He doesn’t have a reputation for being card happy and last season there were just 69 yellow cards in 32 games along with 5 red cards. Two of those red cards came in the same game as Wimbledon saw goalkeeper Kelvin Davis and Jermaine Darlington both sent off in a 2-1 defeat at Norwich.

His first season saw little difference with just 58 yellows and 1 red card in 26 games and this despite having a reputation in South Yorkshire for being a strict disciplinarian. In one game this season, Port Vale v Stockport, he gave out seven yellow cards. His last game was Saturday in the 2nd Division game between QPR and Swindon with just one from each side seeing yellow.

Hopefully he will have a good game on his Turf Moor debut.
