Brian Laws - secures his second signing for Burnley with the capture of goalkeeper Nicky Weaver
Weaver started his career at Mansfield, for whom he played once, before moving to Maine Road with Manchester City. At one time was tipped as a future England goalkeeper. Even though that didn't materialise, the now 30-year-old went on to play over 200 times for City before leaving at the end of the 2006/07 season.

During the second half of the 2005/06 season he had a loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday which was like a return home for him. Born in Sheffield, he's a Wednesday fan. It was that period that has probably seen his move to Burnley today. During a two month spell at Hillsborough he worked with our new goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer.

He moved to Charlton in 2007, playing 70 times for them before losing his place to Rob Elliot. After leaving the Valley last summer he spent the first half of the season on a short term contract with Dundee United where he became a regular.

He's expected to come in as cover for current first choice goalkeeper Brian Jensen and will add further experience to the squad.
