Weather hits the Football League

Fratton Park - our game at Portsmouth was the third Championship game called off

The Championship has got off lightly compared to Leagues One and Two and at this time just two other games have fallen victim to the weather, those being Hull v QPR and Nottingham Forest v Bristol City.

There are no suggestions that any of the other seven games might be in doubt but it's a different story further down. In League One, nine have already been postponed whilst there is an inspection at Bristol Rovers tomorrow to determine whether their game at home to Bournemouth can go ahead.

The Exeter v Tranmere and Swindon v Sheffield Wednesday games will go ahead after successful pitch inspections at both grounds.

League Two is similar with ten off, the Southend v Macclesfield game subject to a pitch inspection and the fixture between Oxford and Barnet at the Kassam Stadium being given the go ahead.

Meanwhile, Burnley have been unable to even train on the Turf Moor pitch with temperatures down this morning to minus 13.5 and they've been training, when possible, at the JJB at Blackburn.
