Wear your colours with pride

Two years ago it was the promotion clincher at Scunthorpe and two years before that was the nail biting win over Plymouth that kept us in Division Two. This time it is Coventry and a good result along with something helpful elsewhere could see us in the play offs and another chance at winning a place in the Premiership.

On Sunday it doesn't matter whether you think we are good enough to play in the Premiership or not, it doesn't matter whether you think we have been poor since Christmas or not. All that matters is that you give the lads as much support as possible. We want the Turf filled with noise and colour from three sides as we do our bit to support them through this last important league game of the season.

Remember the ‘Bring your scarf to the Turf' campaign we run in November for the Grimsby game? We are asking you to dig that scarf out again but this time we want as many Burnley fans as possible to wear a Burnley shirt for the day and we don't necessarily mean this season's replica kit.

Get your old shirts out for the day; if it is your favourite Burnley shirt then wear it. We don't mind if people turn up wearing the quartered shirt of 1996-1998 or even that strange looking shirt with the blue bits on from 1991-1993. You can even wear one of the magnificent Toffs shirts from the 1960s or even the 1940s.

They all have one thing in common they are all Burnley shirts and we want Burnley fans to wear their colours with pride for this game. When the team come out we want them to see nothing but Claret and Blue and then we want them to hear support like they have never heard it before.

We can do nothing about the goings on at Millwall, Birmingham, Norwich or even Preston but we can do everything we can to help our lads for this last league game of the season. It doesn't matter where you are inside Turf Moor, even inside the directors' box where I am sure the club will be happy to relax the dress code for one game, just get out your old Burnley shirt, get out your scarf and clear your throat and give the lads everything as we make one last push for the play offs.

You gave us great support when we asked you to ‘Bring a Scarf to the Turf' and you supported us superbly when we asked you to ‘Roll up for the Reserves'. Now please do everything you can and

Wear your colours with pride
