We want to bring Lowe back from Wolves

Lowe joined the Clarets in August, on the same day as John Spicer and Jon Harley became Clarets, and made his debut as a substitute the day after in the home draw against Derby. The deal was initially for a month but that was extended after the first month until 13th December.

The Football League have been reluctant to give out much information this season regarding loan deals but I can only assume that this is the maximum period allowed for a short term loan.

We do want to keep Lowe until the end of the season and that would then become a long term loan and they have to be from window to window which means we would have to wait until January to do that.

Steve Cotterill said today, “We want to take him for the rest of the season. He’s been terrific for us.” He added, “I think he may go back to Wolves for maybe a couple of weeks over the Christmas period, but we will open talks with Wolves about that in due course and the minute the window opens, we would like him back.”

Lowe has made a total of seventeen league and cup appearances for the Clarets, and netted his first goal in the 3-0 Carling Cup win against Barnsley, whilst also strangely having a good goal disallowed against Leicester in the league.

His last appearance in the old gold of Wolves was just a year ago this weekend when he was in their side that drew 1-1 at Watford. That was Glenn Hoddle’s first game as Wolves manager although he didn’t select the side. Since then he hasn’t been part of the first team set up.

Much now will depend on Hoddle and Wolves with the player believed to be ready to jump at the chance to rejoin the Clarets for the rest of the season.
