We like Robbie Blake free kicks

Robbie Blake
There were ten choices from five different players but it would be an understatement to suggest that Robbie dominated the voting. In the end it was just a matter of which one won, his equaliser at Preston or the first goal in the 3-0 win over ninety minutes against Spurs.

It proved to be Preston. His bending free kick in front of the Burnley fans at the Bill Shankly end of Deepdale won 47.1% of the vote. That was some way in front of the Spurs goal in the end which took 38.5%.

A total of 85.6% of the vote went to the two Blake goals and way, way behind in third place was Jay Rodriguez for his goal against Spurs and that claimed just 6.7% of the vote.

The Preston goal will go forward for the Goal of the Season and almost certainly so will the Spurs goal. The monthly winners to date are: Chris McCann v Oldham (August), Joey Gudjonsson v Preston (September), Chris Eagles v Coventry (October), Ade Akinbiyi v Chelsea (November) and Kevin McDonald v Arsenal (December).
