Watford turn down Deeney bid

It might well have been because of the links between him and Sean Dyche but the speculation has continued and this morning the usually reliable Watford Observer have reported that the Hornets have confirmed that they turned down an offer for the 26-year-old striker who scored 24 Championship goals last season, a figure beaten only by Ross McCormack.

They are claiming that no fee has been revealed but that Burnley will face strong competition from all of West Brom, Swansea, Aston Villa and Norwich who are all reported to be interested in Deeney.

Dyche is credited with turning Deeney's career around during his year there as manager and since Dyche's departure he's passed the twenty goals in all competitions in successive seasons, the first to do that at Watford since Luther Blissett.
