The 1959/60 Championship side - nine of them feature in the Wall of Legends
The names of twenty-five former players have been placed on a plaque on the outside wall of
the Jimmy McIlroy Stand headed by Jimmy himself. On the wall to both left and right of them are bricks bought by supporters to have their names alongside them.

Some of those former players will be there for the unveiling and certainly the club have confirmed that Martin Dobson, Billy Hamilton, Leighton James, Colin McDonald, Jimmy McIlroy and Ray Pointer will be there.

The unveiling is at 2:00 p.m. put thirty minutes later and inside the ground there will be a Parade as these former players are introduced to the crowd at 2:30 p.m..

We all have our favourites, we all have our own ideas on which names should have gone on the wall. But tomorrow it is all about saluting some great names from Burnley’s past, twenty-five great names and twelve of them capped by their countries whilst Clarets.
