Wait goes on for McCann

Chris McCann
He only returned to the side following injury two days ago at Deepdale but he's not fit enough to join up with the squad and for the third time has withdrawn from the squad.

The first time was for personal reasons last year. He was called up then for games against Montenegro and Bulgaria but after being omitted from both starting line ups he elected to return to Burnley.

He was back in the squad for the game against England on 5th February but had to pull out with injury, one which ruled him out of two Burnley games against Colchester and QPR.

And now comes this latest set back. He was injured during the first half of the game at Hull and missed the next three Burnley games before returning to the side on Saturday. Now he's back on the injury list, will miss another international and is doubtful for our home game this week against Barnsley.

The next scheduled games for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side are next September against Bulgaria and Portugal, both away from home.
