Wainey moves to Accy

Youngster Andrew Waine made two substitute appearances at the end of last season for the Clarets but it wasn’t enough to win him a new deal. Today though the 20 year-old midfielder has joined both Paul Cook and Gordon Armstrong by signing for Accrington Stanley.

He has been training with Accrington and has featured in some of their pre-season friendlies and has impressed manager John Coleman enough to get himself a contract.

He could find himself lining up against the Clarets next Wednesday when we visit the Interlink Express Stadium for a pre-season friendly against the Nationwide Conference newcomers.

So that now leaves just Marlon Beresford, Earl Davis, Andrew Leeson and Mark Rasmussen looking for new clubs.
