Vossen gone say Belgians

It's not been confirmed by Burnley yet but at midnight, our time, Belgian side Club Brugge confirmed three new signings. One is Leandro Pereira from Brazilian side Palmeiras and another is Mikel Agu from FC Porto.

They wouldn't make us sit up and take notice but the third once most certainly has done just that. Clubb Brugge have confirmed the signing of Burnley striker Jelle Vossen on a five year contract.

It's unimaginable that the information is not correct; Club Brugge have a photograph on their web site of all three players with Vossen in the centre giving a thumbs up, but, over ten hours later there has been no confirmation from our club of any move.

Vossen was reported to have cost us €3 million Euros when we signed him from KRC Genk on 7th July, becoming our second summer signing after Matt Lowton. He started the season in the team and started each of the first three league games and the Capital One Cup tie at Port Vale.

He was left out of the side after the Ipswich game, replaced by Rouwen Hennings for the home game against Brentford. He didn't feature in that game but was used as a substitute on Saturday at Bristol when he replaced for Andre Gray the last twenty minutes.

It now looks certain that was his last appearance in a Burnley shirt but we'll await confirmation from Burnley which might give some explanation as to why he's moved on after less than two months with us.
