Vokes to join Wales for friendly

Vokes will be looking to win his 30th cap for Wales and if he plays a part in the game it will be his ninth cap since joining Burnley on a permanent basis in the summer of 2012. Many of his appearances have been as a substitute but he started the recent World Cup qualifier against Serbia in September and looked set to keep his place in October but was ruled out initially with an injury to return as a substitute in their last game, a creditable 1-1 draw against Belgium in Brussels.

Wales are out of the World Cup now and have arranged this friendly with manager Chris Coleman, still in charge despite all the speculation linking him with Crystal Palace, naming a 23 man squad for the game.

The squad is: WAYNE HENNESSEY (WOLVES, on loan to YEOVIL), BOAZ MYHILL (WEST BROM), OWAIN FON WILLIAMS (TRANMERE), JAMES COLLINS (WEST HAM), BEN DAVIES (SWANSEA), CHRIS GUNTER (READING), ASHLEY RICHARDS (SWANSEA, on loan to HUDDERSFIELD), SAM RICKETTS (WOLVES), NEIL TAYLOR (SWANSEA), RHOYS WIGGINS (CHARLTON), ASHLEY WILLIAMS (SWANSEA), JOE ALLEN (LIVERPOOL), DAVID COTTERILL (DONCASTER), ANDREW CROFTS (BRIGHTON), ANDY KING (LEICESTER), JOE LEDLEY (CELTIC), AARON RAMSEY (ARSENAL), DAVID VAUGHAN (SUNDERLAND, on loan to NOTTINGHAM FOREST), GARETH BALE (REAL MADRID), SIMON CHURCH (CHARLTON), JERMAINE EASTER (MILLWALL), HAL ROBSON-KANU (READING), SAM VOKES (BURNLEY)
