Villa want Glen

Two players that Taylor is keen to see leave are Steve Stone and Hassan Kachloul although, according to the Birmingham press, he is having great difficulty because of their wages at Villa. Stone has been there some time since signing from Forest although Kachloul has been at Villa only a year. He looked all set to join Ipswich from Southampton but then suddenly signed for then Villa manager John Gregory.

Taylor does have money to spend though and this week made a bid of £16 million for Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips, he is also ready to make an offer for Everton's Dane Thomas Gravesen.

Would Burnley be prepared to sell Glen though? I believe the answer to that question may well have been no for some time but because of the current financial situation is now an almost certain yes. Sources suggest that Stan would be looking for £3 million for a player who still has two years remaining on his current contract.

There has been a lot of speculation that Glen could be going here and there in the Premiership for the last couple of seasons but the only confirmed bid we ever did receive for him was from Port Vale in our Second Division days.

Sadly the books now need to be balanced and the sale of a player, particularly for that sort of money, would help in achieving that.
