Vaughan - not for Burnley

Things do now seem to have changed dramatically, particularly in the last few weeks. Two weeks ago today we learned from him that Chris Eagles was on his way to Celtic yet by the end of the day Burnley FC were confirming that he'd signed a new deal at Turf Moor.

Last weekend came news that, along with Sheffield United, we were chasing a loan deal for Everton's James Vaughan, the 22-year-old striker who became the Premier League's youngest goalscorer when he netted at the age of 16 against Crystal Palace in April 2005.

However, once again the information is far from accurate and the player who scored the opener against us at Goodison Park last season won't be coming to Turf Moor. "There is absolutely nothing in it," was the word from Turf Moor.

Now, if he reports anything from Horwich there could be something in it. He has good contacts there I believe.
