Varga stays until end of season

There were strong suggestions yesterday that the Clarets were looking to extend the Slovakian's loan and the news has today been confirmed by the Wearside club.

Varga arrived at Turf Moor during the first week in January. He was brought in by manager Owen Coyle who wasn't happy with the defending at Blackpool and he went straight into the side for the FA Cup tie against Arsenal, partnering Steven Caldwell in the absence of David Unsworth through suspension.

With injuries and suspensions he has remained in the side and on Saturday was in the starting line up, alongside Unsworth, whilst captain Caldwell had to take a seat on the subs bench.

He's now played four games for us, and we've gone on to win all of the three league games, and that has prompted Owen Coyle to extend the loan for a player who hadn't played a game for RK Sunderland since the first Saturday in February last year.

His last game was scheduled for this coming Saturday at West Brom but he'll now be available for us for the remaining seventeen games of the season.

That's one deal completed with RK Sunderland - now we will wait and see if there is another.
