Van der Schaaf is a Claret

The speculation started last week and despite opportunities with Cardiff and in Turkey the former PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem player agreed to a move to Turf Moor and will join the Clarets on the flight to America tomorrow.

It was with PSV that he played in the Champions League but he was never a regular and returned to Vitesse in 2005. He had an excellent 2007/08 season with them and it was something of a surprise when his contract wasn't renewed.

He played 29 games for them last season and scored three goals, but the next time he's in action will be for the Clarets after completing his move today.
