Remco van der Schaaf - his loan move to Brondby IF is confirmed

It has been a difficult first season at Turf Moor for a player who looked set to be one of our influential players. Owen Coyle enthused about him at a forum just days before the season's start and claimed he would make Chris McCann a better player.

But it hasn't worked out, for whatever reason, and after being substituted in the first game of the season at Sheffield Wednesday he hasn't featured since.

He'll now play for Brondby IF for the remainder of the season. His move was the only one on the last day of the transfer window as far as Burnley were concerned, although Steve Jones did have his loan at Bradford City extended to the end of the season.

There were no incoming moves and a move for Ade Akinbiyi to Qatar, rumoured over the weekend, failed to materialise.

The emergency loan window will open in one week's time.
