Having said that, and having noted that we've failed even to register a goal on the last five occasions he's refereed us, he's not a referee who has caused us too many problems over the years.
The stats below show his Burnley games only since the beginning of the 1996/97 season but there is one game before that at York in the 1994/95 season. That was the night he yellow carded Chris Vinnicombe twice without sending him off.
His 2007/08 season started without him because of injury, and it was November before he was finally back in action. Since then he's refereed 18 games during which he has sent off five players and yellow carded 47. Three of the red cards have gone the way of away team players and of his yellow cards 18 have gone to home team players and 29 to away team players.
A lot of football fans shudder when they see the name Uriah Rennie on the team sheet but I'm not so sure they should. He's as good as any, and better than most.
The assistant referees for the game are Gary Brittain (South Yorkshire) and Mick McDonough (Tyne & Wear) whilst Stockport referee Scott Mathieson, he who allows penalties to be taken without checking on the goalkeeper first, is named as the fourth official.
