Unsworth decision in two weeks

Coyle has always insisted that he would give Unsworth longer to decide given the fact that accepting the offer would see a dramatic drop in pay along with the fact that it would mean him playing less and less football.

Some media sources, including the BBC, somewhat strangely believed he'd been given a deadline of last weekend but that was never the case and although Coyle would obviously like a decision sooner rather than later he has never changed his decision to give the player longer to consider the offer.

The role would be that of player/coach but with more emphasis on the coaching side of things particularly with the club's younger players. Coyle has also said he could expect to play in less games than he's done this season.

There's nothing specific been said about the potential role but it does look to me as though he could be heading up the reserve team allowing Steve Davis to concentrate fully on his first team duties.

It is now thought that Unsworth will make up his mind in the next two weeks, the decision to be made is whether he wants to continue his playing career before moving into coaching or whether he is happy to move into this new role immediately. Unsworth is currently taking his UEFA 'A' licence in Scotland.
