He'd signed a one year deal with them after opting not to take up a coaching role at Burnley, preferring to continue his playing career. But things didn't work out and he played just five times for the League One club and hasn't featured at all since October.

One week on and he's revealed that he has decided to hang up his boots and concentrate on coaching. And said: "I've had a great time but it's the right time now for me to concentrate on something else.

"I am doing my coaching badges and my intention is to move into that side of the game. I'm thoroughly enjoying the coaching side and am keen to really get started, which is the main reason for hanging my boots up."

Unsworth was involved with our reserve team at the end of the 2007/08 season and was offered coaching role with the younger professionals, a role that very much looked as though it would be running the reserve team.

Now, a year later, he's decided at the age of 35 to turn his attention full time to coaching.
