Carlisle formed a formidable partnership with David Unsworth as we dealt with the threat of Chris Iwelumo and Luke Varney (Charlton's best player). It is no surprise to see Clarke in the team yet again.
Up front Andy Gray, singled out for special praise by manager Owen Coyle, was again in top form, giving the Charlton defence no rest whatsoever and adding two more goals including that crucial third from the spot that just about ended the game as a contest.
They are joined by one former Claret and a player who came close to being a Claret not too long ago. Bradley Orr, now at Bristol City, is named at right back whilst alongside Carlisle in the centre of defence is Southampton defender Andrew Davies.
The full team is: Heinz Muller (Barnsley), Bradley Orr (Bristol City), Clarke Carlisle (Burnley), Andrew Davies (Southampton), Stephen Crainey (Blackpool), Karl Duguid (Colchester), Karl Henry (Wolves), Gavin Williams (Ipswich), Richard Garcia (Hull), Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (Plymouth), Andy Gray (Burnley).
