Two former players line up against the Clarets

David Eyres - playing against the Clarets today
There will in fact be two games, one involving the first team and the second game involving the reserve teams as the Clarets and Oldham use the games to help up fitness in preparation for the opening of the season.

We have had no news of the Burnley line ups but Eyres and Reeves will both be in the Oldham first team alongside the likes of Matty Appleby, Carlo Corazzin and new signing from Tranmere Clint Hill whilst in the reserves our opponents will include players such as Lee Duxbury, Darren Sheridan and John Eyre.

There has been no indication as to where the games are being played but given the restrictions at the Oldham training ground the more likely venue is Gawthorpe. It certainly isn't being played on the Turf, for one thing the pitch is not ready yet and furthermore the official website have been at pains to tell us that the game is not being played there. So Gawthorpe has to be the favourite, certainly for one of the games if not both.
