Turf Moor debut for man in charge

Like most referees Curson has been busy with the red cards this season and has already sent off three players including two in his last two games. He sent off Plymouth’s Brian McGlinchey in August during their 2-1 home win against Huddersfield.

Last week he sent off Derby’s Mart Poom in their Worthington Cup defeat at the hands of Oldham and followed that up by sending off Simon Haworth of Wigan as they crashed 6-1 at Mansfield. It was Haworth’s first game back from suspension for a previous red card.

They have come in eleven games and there have also been 31 yellow cards with 12 of them being given to home team players and 19 to away team players.

Last season he averaged just over two yellow cards per game and in the entire season, and from 39 games, sent off just five players.

There are no Burnley games to look back on and we look forward to him having a quiet and a trouble free first afternoon on the Turf.
