Tudgay to stay at Hillsborough

The whole episode has left the two clubs at loggerheads, certainly if you choose to listen to their chairman Lee Stafford and manager Brian Laws.

However Laws was adamant that Tudgay was happy with Wednesday, in total contrast to the words coming from the player's agent Darryl Powell, but it now looks very much as if Laws has been proved right.

Tudgay had, according to his club, agreed a new three year deal which had remained unsigned. Powell had said his client would not be signing that deal. Today's news suggests that he will sign it and will pledge himself to Sheffield Wednesday for the next three years.

Meanwhile Burnley will move on without the striker who scored four goals against us last season.
