Tudgay - there could be news soon

Burnley want the player and made an offer that was turned down by Sheffield Wednesday in no uncertain terms but the player remains adamant, according to Powell, that he would like to speak to Burnley.

Yesterday Wednesday boss Brian Laws missed out on Lee Hughes and it was considered that he wanted him as a potential replacement for Tudgay. Hughes, released by Oldham, opted instead for Notts County on the day they appointed Sven Goran Eriksson.

Tudgay continues to train and play with Wednesday, and he scored in their 2-0 win over Hartlepool on Tuesday.
