Top two pulling away

Last updated : 03 February 2010 By Tony Scholes
Chelsea now lead United by two points with Arsenal a further four point behind. Those three look assured of a Champions League place next season but there is a tight four horse race for the remaining place.

Spurs currently hold that position but Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa are all within two points of them.

Down at the bottom, the Clarets have slipped into next to bottom position, but so tight is it that a win over Chelsea would have seen us in fourteenth place. A couple of wins would make a big difference if we could get them.

The week's stats are below along with the Premier League's leading goalscorers, each club's disciplinary record and the weekend fixtures.
