Ian Cox - definitely out
There have been all different thoughts bandied around the town over the past few days as to who will and who won't start. It was suggested earlier in the week that Ian Cox would be available again and was expected to start but this has been dismissed by the club. They have said clearly that Coxy is still unavailable due to the hamstring/thigh injury he picked up at Bramall Lane a month ago.

It was suggested on Wednesday that none of the eleven who played at Lancaster would start but if skipper Steve Davis was out of the equation again it does ask the question as to who would start at the back.

We have had rumours of a bust up at Grimsby with one player, who shall remain nameless, being told he will never play for the club again. I suspect that this particular player will start today. It is just typical Burnley I suppose, always stories where there aren't any or those that do exist being exaggerated.

Last week at Grimsby Stan started with the same eleven that had beaten Gillingham the previous week and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start with the same eleven. That would mean us lining up: Nik Michopoulos, Dean West, Steve Davis, Arthur Gnohere, Mitchell Thomas, Glen Little, Kevin Ball, Tony Grant, Lee Briscoe, Ian Moore, David Johnson. Subs: Gordon Armstrong, Paul Weller, Paul Gascoigne, Gareth Taylor, Andy Payton. Sadly I don't think there will be a place for Paul Cook in the squad, he didn't even get a game in the reserves this week.

Coventry meanwhile have some problems of their own with three players suspended. The impressive David Thompson missed the game at Highfield Road through suspension and it is the same today with Ysrael Zunige and Youssef Safri joining him on this occasion.

Horacio Carbonari has twisted his knee and with no chance of playing has returned to Derby whilst Gary Breen is only rated as 50/50 to make it back after injury.

It has been suggested that one or two youngsters could get a place with Robert Betts and Lee Fowler the most likely. Craig Pead and Calum Davenport could also make the squad. Davenport was the player who by kicking the ball away allowed (incorrectly) our free kick to be moved into the box from which we scored our superb second goal.

There are no hints at all as to what their starting line up will be and the new management team could make other changes. The two Lees, Hughes and Mills, are expected to start up front.
