Alan Moor - expected to start if Lee Briscoe misses out
Gareth Taylor is out serving the second and last game of his two match suspension for having received ten yellow cards. The tenth was against Millwall and incredibly the Burnley striker has since collected another two.

Coxy and Branchy were both out against Leicester with achilles and groin injuries respectively and neither of them are certain of recovering whilst Lee Briscoe has been suffering from a virus and having missed the debacle at Walsall had to come off at half time on Tuesday.

The good news for Stan though is that Steve Davis, Glen Little and Paul Weller all came through another full 90 minutes against Leicester as they look to find full fitness after coming back from injuries.

Much speculation surrounds the goalkeeping position following the recent performances from Marlon. He has looked suspect on each of the last five goals but Stan definitely prefers him to Nik the Greek and I do expect him to keep his place.

With Briscoe unlikely to be fully fit he could have to settle for a place on the bench and Stan could start with the team that started the second half and that was: Marlon Beresford, Dean West, Steve Davis, Driss Diallo, Arthur Gnohere, Glen Little, Paul Weller, Paul Cook, Alan Moore, Robbie Blake, Ian Moore.

The subs bench would then look something like: Nik Michopoulos, Mark McGregor, Lee Briscoe, Tony Grant and Dimitri Papadopoulos.

Grimsby have won successive league games for only the second time this season and unless forced into it manager Paul Groves is hardly likely to make changes.

However he does have injury doubts although Darren Barnard is the only one who looks as though he could miss out, and that will be good news for whoever is in our goal when it comes to free kicks.

Stacy Coldicott is having treatment for a sore achilles whilst goalkeeper Danny Coyne took a knock at Rotherham but both should come through.

Grimsby will probably line up: Danny Coyne, John McDermott, Simon Ford, George Santos, Tony Gallimore, John Oster, Paul Groves, Richard Hughes, Stuart Campbell, Darren Barnard (or Stacy Coldicott), Darren Mansaram.

Player boss Paul Groves is expecting a tough game although he doesn’t appear to have a grasp of the league table. He said yesterday,

"Burnley will be a very difficult place to go, they are in or around the play offs. They are up there because they are a good side and have good individual players. They have hit a little bit of a sticky patch and they’ll be looking to bounce back quickly. It will be very difficult for us.

"Burnley will be an entirely different proposition to Rotherham. They’ll look to play a lot more football but they do they do have the option of being direct if they care to do so".
